Towards a More Humane Way to Lead

What serves as the source dimension of your leadership approach? Is this a question you have ever even pondered? It is an important question, as the source from which we operate affects all that follows - our seeing, thinking, acting, and feeling (on the surface of life).
Fact is, few leaders really give thought to what drives their seeing, thinking, acting, and feeling which results in outcomes that nobody wants - tension, conflict, poor decision making, wasted resources, toxic cultures, and a host of other corporate pathologies. Workers today are looking for a new leadership style. They are looking for leaders that bring a more humane approach to their work; an approach that embodies open dialogue, empathetic listening, and self-empowerment.
Now, what I am suggesting is that to lead in this more humane, eco-system-driven way requires one to re-assess and reflect on one's leadership style/approach. But more than this, access one's source dimension (aka 'soul') to ask important questions of self when in the presence of soul. What questions do we ask self? We ask questions such as these:
How do I want to be viewed as a leader?
What do I want my legacy to be when people reflect on my leadership style?
How might I most inspire my people/staff?
Am I leading in such a way to enable each person's 'true self' to shine?
How must I see, think, act, and feel on the surface of life?
In asking these questions (and others like them), one can effectively descend (i.e., shift) one's source dimension from an ego-centric (self dimension) mental model to a more humane eco-system (soul dimension) mental frame. We need leaders today who both recognize and have the courage to operate from this deeper source dimension. For when we operate from this more inspiring, humane way of seeing it results in better results - better outcomes for all.
